Set Sail For Full Sail
The first beer I had that demonstrated taste to me was brewed by Full Sail. Ever since that time I have known that a voyage to the brewery would be mandatory. Recently I made the trip. Flying from Burbank, Ca. to Protland, Or. all I could think of was how much better beer was going to taste straight from its home tap.
After landing in the City of Roses, I was joined by First Maat. Now his presence made the voyage that much more enjoyable. We drove to hood river with a stop along the way.
Once we entered the brewery, First Maat noticed a line forming by a door. Immediately we joined in. It was for a tour. During the tour I so decided that I wanted to live here, inside the brewery for lyfe. My new home was found!
After the tour and upon receiving our Full Sail Pint Glass, we proceeded to the outside deck. Over looking Hood River, I partook of Saison A Pleine Voile.

This was a “Pub Exclusive”. The translation is Saison A Full Sail. It was a light, malty taste and had an aroma of lemon and cloves. Definitely coated the tongue nicely.
Nothing can compare to overlooking Hood River, drinking one’s first bier of choice in the company of one’s bier drinking companion. Words can not describe this event. Let alone while writing this and reliving the experience; a wonderful smile is across my face.
A challenge to y’all would be to try a beer from the brewery that turned you onto how good beer can be. If possible visit the source. Take a good friend with you. Finally share the experience.
As always thanks for taking the time to read this blog.
