In Search Of Bier

SideBar

A recent voyage had me docking at SideBar. It is a newly opened venue in Glendale, CA. Located just off GlenOaks Blvd.

The beer selection is top notch. Many on draft as well as bottles are available. The ambiance is subtle and you can actually hold a conversation with the person sitting next to you!

Happy Hour prices are not to be missed. The hours of 6 - 8pm M-F, has inexpensive drafts and well drinks. The bar does open at 6.

The two drafts I had were:

Taps IPA

The 8% IPA had a nice looking head. A bit on the grapefruit side with other citrus to compliment the taste. Temperature was just right, nice cool and refreshing.

Grand Teton Persephone

The 8.76% imperial pilsner had hops on the front. The backend had me a little perplexed. I’ll leave that as a cliffhanger for you to try and figure out what it taste like.

In the meantime, I suggest that you find a local watering hole. One that has a great happy hour. Feel free to send me your suggestions.

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog.

Until next time
