PDX BIER TASTING
Recently I had the opportunity to visit Portland, Oregon. It was a wonderful trip. Trying many of the biers that are actually brewed at the local breweries there. A person whom I don’t say enough good things about, was in Portland, Oregon recently as well. He brought back some bottles from the local breweries there and had a tasting at his abode. The following is a list of what I tried along with my comments.
1) Golden Rose
Belgium, smooth, honey, smells good, mead
2) Maiden The Shade
IPA smelling, citrus, grapefruit all on the back end
3) Sanctuary
Spicy, double IPA, molasses
4) Upright 5
Smell hoppy, bitter, lightly sour, cloudy
5) Rise Up Red
Hoppy, bitter, organic red beer
footnote here, you can see DB Cooper on the label, if you do not know who that is I suggest you google him
6) Bad Henry
Very hoppy
7) O Dark: 30
Smokey, dark
8) 8.4.1 Expedition
Honey, dark, bitter on the back end
9) Old Board Head 09
